I lost my service dog in 2018. It broke my heart and devastated me. I also lost my cat in 2017, and my other cat in 2019.
I rescued an abused 2 year old mini Aussie in 2020. I truly belive had I had a dog... a confident dog already in place, my rescue might be better adjusted today. My rescued Aussie was so traumatized by his own pack and people... it took 8 months just to get him to walk around our rural block.
It's been 4 years. He's still a hot mess but we've made progress.
Most days it's just small, baby steps but hey, progress is still progress.
