Villages Underwater: River Sutlej Flooding Escalates!

On Tuesday, India released a staggering amount of water, exceeding 70,000 cusecs, into Pakistan's River Sutlej from the Harike headworks. This sudden influx resulted in an incessant rise in the water level. Recognizing the potential danger, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) swiftly issued a high alert to the authorities in Punjab, urging them to take immediate precautions in response to the water release.

Consequently, the swollen River Sutlej breached its banks, leading to extensive flooding in neighboring villages situated on both sides of the river. One severely affected area was the village of Sehjra near Kasur, which found itself inundated by the floodwater. Despite the high alert issued by the PDMA, rescue teams were unable to reach the village, prompting residents to take matters into their own hands and evacuate to safer locations.

In anticipation of the looming threat of floods, the PDMA had previously instructed the Deputy Commissioners of Kasur, Okara, Vehari, and Pakpattan to make all necessary arrangements. To ensure maximum preparedness, a high alert has been declared by the PDMA for the entire province of Punjab.

India is in itself fighting with overflowing of rivers due to intensive rain and if dams get closed in india it will result in complete drowing of many villages around it and excessive flooding.
Its not a new problem between 2 nations it is natural .
