Why the angle peen?
When you use a hammer for a long period of time the importance of body mechanics, ergonomics and working in your physical centre become more apparent .
I want to stand at my anvil in a relaxed state and delivery accurate judicious blows that accomplish my goal in as few heats and blows .
Having a variety of choices helps with that.

I actually made an angle peen hammer by cutting down a cheep sledgehammer; I angled both faces, so flipping the hammer switches the angle, which is super useful for widening out. I put a big radius on both peens, and primarily use it for drawing out, if used over the horn, the result is a lot like a set of drawing dies on a power hammer; lengthening without leaving substantial marking up of the piece to tidy up. Only more exercise!
