How to Upgrade a Preconstructed Commander Deck

Preconstructed Commander decks are available with every major set release and they're a great way to jump right into the action in one of Magic: The Gathering's most popular formats, but upgrading them into something unique and personal is a huge part of the fun!

That's why I'm sharing some of my top tips for taking your next Commander deck from stock list to chef's kiss!

I love the recommendation to upgrade lands first. There are so many multicolor lands that don't come into play tapped; my personal favorites being the pain lands first introduced in Ice Age. If I had to choose a favorite Commander deck I've built it would have to be Mathis, the Fiend Seeker. I call it my NPC Quest Bounty deck...VERY janky but also very fun :)

Thank you for the video. I've been wanting to get into commander more and this definitely helped. I was looking at ways of work on the new faerie deck, and this certainly helped. Especial the last part. I had to think on a favorite card to add. Thinking back on my experience in magic and how I started, I know it has to be Kraken Hatchling. One of my favorites from my first decks, a blue/green buff deck.

My favorite deck is my Titania deck I like that I can stick all the Titania's because they all play into the strategy. As well as my favorite Zendikar Rising cards. That is the set that got me back into magic after not playing for almost a decade. The deck is fast because of the ramp it summons big monsters and it does a lot every turn. It is very difficult to beat especially when it gets going. It is fun
