This is great thankyou. I feel having a connection with the land (the natural biosphere ecosystem in which i live) and having a connection with the food that i eat (rather than it just arriving to me without me having any relationship to it)... is essential

With the minds and talents of this guest and the FTP team working on solutions to the impending and starkly 'dire unknown' awaiting our species..I'm seeing a brilliant Hope manifesting itself in very encouraging ways. Fantastic podcast, Thanks Ya'll!!

I thought of a metaphor for the properties of:
Anti-fragle (regenerative) and non self terminating.

Telomeres delineate the end of a piece of genetic code. Their (telomere's) length is proportionally related to the lifespan of the code (the ability to / number of times the code they encapsulate can be copied) as well as directly proportional their prevelence of becoming cancerous tumors.

So longer telomeres can generate tissues better and for longer, but also increase the risk of developing cancer.

"Free" or open capitalist systems are similar. The less regulation or the more free a token economy is, the more it can generate the complicated things (or maybe complex things if we redesignate the manufacturing and supply line as a self regenerating system) in society and replace them. (Regenerate tissues)
But it also tends to externalize harm and cost for the benefit of individuals/organizations (cancerous cells) well as produce a psychology within that abundance that seeks to self terminate for lack of more genuine or meaningful struggle to growth (auto immune response?)

And shorter telomeres will not facilitate the longevity of tissue development, but don't as often produce cancer cells.

Rigid top down structures (Marxism is my preferred name for this, but others would work in it's stead) don't innovate and produce very well or effectively, and excluding so far China, have a short lifespan (though China was propped up by "free" token systems where it was set to collapse in abject poverty).

I can't help but think this metaphor is useful to the conceptualization of this problem/puzzle/phase shift, but I have no idea how.

Maybe a more informed biologist could extend this metaphore into helpful elements of facilitating / discovering "game "b""

I wish I listened to this when it was released. I met Mike and Euvie not long after this was released at the TZM Zday event in Brisbane in 2017 but only now in 2020 have I really learned who Daniel Schmachtenberger is thanks to the Rebel Wisdom sensemaking series.

Would love to hear a conversation between Daniel and Peter Joseph (maker of the Zeitgeist movies), which Daniel undoubtedly has also seen. TZM was known as the 'activist' branch of The Venus Project, which was Jacque Fresco's initiative to make known his RBE (resource-based economy) ideas which Daniel is clearly influenced by...in fact, he has one of JF's books on his site, so...
Daniel has taken the spirit of JF's ideas and run with it, not dissimilar to PJ and a conversation between them would be interesting from a personal and historic pov but also illuminating energising and inspiring. @Future Thinkers pass the idea along; make it happen, please

As for the corruption, systems has to account for what's ur position at the table..do all rules apply to everyone? & How does the dynamics work out to get there?

I suppose one thing we could all do in the West is eat a lot less. I don't mean just red meat - I mean, less in general. I've discovered, for example, that I don't need to eat every day. Every other day is fine, and I'm still healthy. If you're living a largely sedentary life as an adult in front of a computer screen most of the time, you simply don't need all those calories.

Damn. I grant you that some ads are okay. But you really placed too many ads here. Listening on 1.5x speed and every few minutes an add.

I found this talk fascinating -even esential- but I had to turn it off 32 minutes in. Too many commercials.
I guess i'm an extreamist but in most cases I'd rather miss the information than absorb the many-layered propaganda of commercials.

Wow--this is incredible especially in light of the changes that have taken place since it was recorded, especially COVID-19.

I find it endearing that this incredible polymath still pronounces "etcetera" as "eckcetera." Seriously, this gives me hope for the human species which I've pretty much come to believe is too stupid to survive.

I like the Podcast a lot.
For paying monthly it should at least be a weekly episode though.
And content or information you can not find for free online.
Little bit disappointed about the new paywall.
