K2 seems to be not at same frequency. K2 is not a "zero beat".

Grazi! To my ears, the K2 sounds nicer in audio quality ("smoother" or "mellow") compared to the KX2. Yet, the KX2 seemed to have a noticeable advantage in sensitivity/signals heard. There is a generation of design and componentry between them. I do love the idea of building a K2 myself as it seems to be the last of the analogue (non-SDR) rigs out there worth investing in. 73 de M0NJX

What are the sizes of the speakers in the K2 and KX2?

K2 is tuned to 14.0154 MHz, KX2 tuned to 14.016 and then to 14.0155 MHz.

il K2 ha decisamente meno rumore di fondo, non so se dovuto a una differente sensibilità o se dovuto alla differente architettura del ricevitore. Lo si nota specialmente senza preamp. Peccato per quei 100Hz di differenza tra i due. La stessa tonalità avrebbe fatto apprezzare ancora meglio le differenze.
