I agree with the sentiment, I’m nearly 48 and disabled. I was lucky enough to have twin girls when I was 40, but their mom died when they were just 28 days old. I was devastated to say the least, never really had time to grieve properly. I could’ve given my girls up, but that’s not who I am so I’ve raised them doing all feeds, nappies and washing. At nearly 8 they’re in the top set in their school, get first places on sports day, I’d taught them to ride a pedal bike before they were 2, taught them to climb trees and discipline with shooting. The only thing I’ve not been able to do is teach them to swim, but their school has done that for me. I thought that the situation for me in 2016 was going to finish me, but I’ve come out of it stronger in the long run. I’ve now met someone else, even though I was scared to fall in love again.
Moral of my story is fight and keep fighting, do not give way to the darkness.

yeah, im almost 1k days fully sober, these days i dont think about it much, but really its a massive achievement i should be proud of, it was the worst times of my life trying to get sober, and i finally did it :)
