I love that they didn’t force anything like rap into the song, they did an amazing job with the theme/concept

That "Dynamite" font was actually how Army first figured out that this would have a retro theme!
Also yeah, these are all built sets and green screens. They obviously couldn't shoot this in LA or something, and it was monsoon season in Korea during the time, so the skies and sunshine is all fake. But I think as least a few of the palm trees from the basketball court set were part of the live set.

Personally, I really love this song and I love that it's in English as well, but I'd prefer it if this stayed as a "special treat", something they do occasionally, if it fits with the song. I want them to keep doing what they do - dominate the world in Korean.

I really needed this kind of cute wholesome funky catchy song. Its not a type of song I usually like but it just makes me so relaxed and I cant stop listening to it

Someone said they might have been referring to the “GOT MILK?” Commercials that were popular in the 90s

The milk bit was deliberate because his whole verse is about different trends and 'got milk' was a trend

"Cup of milk" and then a nod to the famously popular "Got Milk?" ad campaign in the 90s in the video with the milk mustache. I think it's a legit lyric.

Idk if you knew but the whole theme of the comeback single is supposed to be like a 50’s-80’s as well as some 90’s retro and disco vibes. Also, I think the moves are reminding you of many of Micheal Jackson’s dance moves and other artists as well, such as the high knee kick and more.

V's last part "Off the Wall" is the name of Michael Jackson's first solo album, so there's definitely an homage to MJ, American music and culture in general, but as you said it's set in a time and place that could be anywhere or nowhere, which is interesting in itself. Suggests to me that we don't want to go back to any of those eras necessarily but we can import cultural influences that appeal to everyone and share them through music.

You totally hit the mark with the "50's nuclear testing towns" when describing their mv style! Your explanation came across perfectly I was nodding my head saying "omg yes" while you were describing the visual style.

This song gave me major Bruno Mars vibes with the whole “making disco modern” thing. Congrats to BTS on their new hit 🥰💜

Idk, I thought the “cup of milk” lyric was cute and humorous, especially coming from JK and his love of (banana) milk. It seems very on brand for him
