There is growing interest with some customers in using linked servers from Managed Instance and using Entra Authentication. It is possible to create Linked Servers on SQL Managed instance to connect to other PaaS databases such as other SQL MIs, Azure SQL Databases or Synapse databases using Entra Authentication.Microsoft currently supports 2 specific use cases. SQL Managed Instance linked server with managed identity Microsoft Entra authentication. SQL Managed Instance linked server with pass-through Microsoft Entra authentication. It is now possible to create dedicated Azure Monitor clusters in public and sovereign clouds with a minimum commitment of 100GB per day.Changes were made in response to feedback for reducing the required commitment tier in Azure Monitor log dedicated clusters.Billing begins upon provisioning of a managed Azure Data Explorer (ADX) cluster, which supports data ingestion and queries.Refer to Azure Monitor dedicated cluster, Customer-managed key, pricing and commitment tiers for more details.This update aims to provide more flexibility in creating dedicated clusters for Azure Monitor log users.
