What is this PSP accessory?

Had a psp as a kid. You could load music onto the sd card and use the psp as an mp3 player. The controller connects to normal headphones and allows you to pause/play/skip songs while your psp is in your pocket

Dude those originale psp headphone set up was a head of its time man. Those were some of the best headphones of it time. I remember watching Spiderman 2 that came with it and it was like I was watching it with surround sound

It was just a media controller for your music mostly. It was also only compatible with the PSP-1000 (phat) model. This port was removed from the other PSP models that was released after this model.

Yeah this is a controller for listening to music. The early iPods had a similar accessory. It was meant for when you wanted to keep your player or console in your backpack or case; you could just use that accessory to control music out of the bag. It was a convenience thing.

Pretty sure it's for music on the device and you can also have ur psp propped up while watching a movie and still use this for volume

When you had a psp with music on it back in the day this “weird” accessory would save you the time of pulling the psp out of pocket to change or skip song, in my honest opinion that “weird” accessory is a piece of history classic shiii

Ah, so finally one I actually know about (I have one in storage somewhere). This is a remote for music for the PSP and it was bundled in certain packages (IE: Mine was the Lords of Dogtown bundle). You could store music on the PSP, and this was Sony's attempt at indirectly competing with the iPod.

Lol, classic! This was part of a PSP bundle, it allows you to control your psp when playing songs.

It's just a controller. I used it quite a bit, I thought it was quite useful at the time.

I got one of those with my daxter psp 2000 bundle back in Christmas 2007 . It’s a accessory to be used with the cheap earphones they give you, to control the music and video playback. I think I still have mine but I think they were real helpful if you were using your psp as a MP3 player and didn’t feel like taking it out of your pocket and manually flipping through songs or pausing them
