I just brought my 8 year old son a Yamaha keyboard. I don't have any musicians in my family. Thanks for this

Awesome Video Mike. I really like your idea of playing your favorite themes and then after that improvising and coming up with your own ideas after playing your favorite themes. Definitely going to try that out in my next composition :)

What is that app you use that is on your screen on 10:32 ? Also, your videos are very useful and great.

Don't forget to back up your new RAID!!!! The ARIA deal is a no brainer except I don't have 100GB left!. I need something like your RAID system. I think this will become one of my favourite youtube programmes.

Like the idea for this video a lot. I can see this series being very useful and interesting. Thanks for doing it, Mike. Also, Music memos can tell you the notes you hum/sing? That is very, very useful. I wonder if there is a similar app for a desktop DAW. However, I'm not sure I can call myself a 'real' composer as I rarely get music ideas in my head. What I do is start Logic and then throw things at it until I hear something I like (beats, chords or bass usually) and then repeat it until I have things that sound good together (to me) and I keep doing that until I think I'm finished. So I don't what that is? Music Producer? Fake? Abstract artist??? Music maker? Whatever. It is my method and I get results I am very happy with (I'm a big fan of 'me!!!" (is that arrogant or narcissistic?). I have been dabbling in music theory recently and will try to expand that next year as I've discovered that knowing some theory gives me "ideas" I would never have come across before. More fun stuff. I usually try a different scale for each new track to, hopefully, keep things interesting. Lastly, I need to figure out how to marry lyrics with my music. All the music I have made in the last 2 years has been instrumental even though a lot of it uses song structures. One thing I have no problem with is lyrics. They used to pop into my head at anytime in a 24 hour period. Before portable recording devices I always kept a pen & notebook handy.
