Colin is the master of starting a new sentence before the previous sentence is finished.

The special he did about the Declaration of Independence was one of the most genius hours ever

Colin is right on with small talk. The toughest part is how to exit a long small talk. I must get this book. Yes! Teach animals small talk!

that's why I love the english language, it has so many straight forward expressions that I just can't find in my native tongue - not even 'small talk', looked up the suggestions on wiki 'Plauderei' - really? and none of them worked for me (being german, said to be very flowery and explaining with long words but at the end of the day it has nothing on english). having lived in NYC for nine years I still live, breathe, dream, think in english, even after 15 years being back in germany the words i am looking for always come back first in english, it is just the best language!!!!

I also appreciated Colin’s contribution to MTV’s best show ever: Remote Control.

I'm really bad at smalltalk because if someone would start talking to me about how awful the rain is my first instinct is to inform them about that we now have zero rain that isn't polluted with "forever chemicals" *everywhere* on the planet, even places humans have never set foot. No rainwater can be classified as safe anymore. So yes, Deborah, the rain is indeed awful and it's a huge fricken deal.

In fairness, my immigrant family excelled in small talk. They can get the life story of any service worker when we go out to eat lol

I honestly thought Colin had died a few years ago. So glad he's still around. Tough Crowd was a GREAT show.

Small talk does not exist in Finland. We do not have a word for it, it does not exist as a concept. If we have nothing to say, then we will say nothing. We have "comfortable silence".

I don't think cats would ever do small talk. They're more like, "If you have something interesting to say, just say it. Otherwise, I'll just go back to staring into space."

Small talk is a form of societal cooperation - think of it as something ur doing; not for others- but to make your own life easier

I am sort of unsold on Colin Quinn but there is something in him I really like and I watch him every time a clip comes up. He's very funny but also I feel slightly like he has more in him.
