Proverbs 25:22 “For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.”

Treating our enemies as God commands leads to God’s rewards.

I have this doubt that
In practice, especially in the olden times, many people(enemies) used to be highly repulsive toward the kindness of the ones whom they hate
So if one were to give a drink to his enemy, then his anger would be kindled as this kind person was expected to become aggressive, sinful and violent by that cunning person, but the contrary had happened
So I'm still unclear about this passage as I feel it's being more relevant in the sense of kindling the anger of the enemy, whether or not it helps him turn to God on the latter part of his life, than that passage implying "sole" kindness

If possible, please expound

It may work where The enemy of God basically extract heavenly or spiritual treasures from those they help with purpose and the alternative is coals and shame. Just speculation based on experience and scripture. Of course seek the truth of things from God and the Bible. No matter the source including me.
