This needs placement behind a small screen so you can only see the beam and not the unit directly.
Alternatively: aim it at a mirror ball

That lens is a TIR lens, Total Internal Reflectivity. It's found on many LED flashlight to produce a narrow beam with a sharp edge cutoff. So basically you have an RGB LED flashlight in a cheap plastic case. Not the worst thing on the market, I suppose, could have been better with a rechargeable 18650 battery.

Blinding ... I suppose I'd wrap the base tube and a bit taller with at least black construction paper ... that might mitigate ??

Seeing tat like this makes me glad that I still have my old light fixtures and a box of hoarded incandescent bulbs.

Fran read the extremely small recycle instructions carefully, It quite clearly states to hit the unit many times with a very heavy hammer and throw into a trashcan (not included).

That lens is made for a single LED, with the 3 off center RGB dies that's why the hot spot was off center. I've got flashlights that create a beam way better than this thing.

Driving those LEDs that bright I'd think you wouldn't get more than one night out of a set of batteries, maybe one day with high capacity NiMH.
