With this firmware update, you can get the ultimate locked-in feel of AS3X+; but now in lower channel count receivers such as the 6, 8, and 10 channel Spektrum stabilized receivers (refer to the full list of receivers in the video). The all-new AS3X+ stabilization algorithm creates better flight performance, improves sensor accuracy and data rate, and provides pilots with a generationally different feel compared to AS3X. AS3X+ new parameters and new menus with intuitive forward programming makes it the easiest system to set up and program. It features a vastly improved stabilization algorithm that has been rigorously tested by experts throughout the hobby. In the video, Horizon Hobby Technical Director David Payne walks through the process in updating an AS3X receiver to the new AS3X+ firmware. He also goes through the first time setup of the AS3X+ receiver and provides a couple of tips and tricks along the way!

Just switched all my receivers over to AS3X+! There is some black magic going on with AS3X+! I can fly extremely tail heavy and my plane will be in control but make it able to do maneuvers not possible without AS3+. It would be unflyable without it. This is exactly what I needed for my EDF Jets. And 3D planes. I'm in love! My Extreme Flight 104" Edge 540T hovers practically hands-off with AS3X+. I'm surprised how high I can run my gains without it oscillating. I also have a throttle mix to lower my gains at higher throttle settings. This is awesome! Thanks, Spektrum and Horizon. IDK what you guys did but this is out of this world! The heading hold on the nose wheel and heading hold flight mode makes the landing almost hands-off. This is incredible! I'm looking forward to doing more flying and testing.

Amazed by the firmware updates to the receivers. I have a 637T that I registered and updated when I purchased. Yesterday I did the updates to get to AS3X+, amazing. I’ll learn more when I get to fly it.

Super Excited! I see there are only a few (currently) pre-set model's available for the 3.x Firmware. Is there a time frame when we will see other models, Will you guys be updating all current production model's Pre-Set's to the 3.x Firmware? Thanks!

So some of us have been comparing notes today. Seems that when updating an RX but not doing a factory reset and using a TX that is not updated some of the new functionality comes up in the menu even though it is technically on AS3X and not AS3X+. In a future update can you make it clear that it’s either AS3X+ or AS3X? Calling both just AS3X in forward programming is confusing a number of us.

My Cirrus SR22t just arrived this morning. Had her up for maiden this afternoon. Now im just waiting for my programming cable to get here tomorrow, so i can crank this AR637TA up to "Hell yeah!"
Havent been through this process yet- my previous AR631's let me factory reset via FP in my NX8.
So, i really apreciate having this step-by-step tutorial to referrence. Thanks Spektrum Dudes 👍

Nice to have up to 20 channels on the NX10 to match the receivers number of channels. What kind of improvements AS3X vs AS3X+ can one expect when flying?

This all makes sense and I’m rather excited to start upgrading to As3X+, however I have a few questions, mainly around a couple of BNFs that I own.

Will existing BNFs start shipping with AS3X+? My 90mm viper BNF flies just great. My worry is that if I upgrade to as3X+ then I won’t be able to dial it in as good as the factory AS3X settings. Would there be maybe recommended AS3X+ settings for existing BNF planes like the viper 90mm? Will I even notice a difference? Is it worth doing on that plane at all?

As you mentioned at the middle of the video, you also must update your Tx IOT take advantage of the AS3X+ features.

Please make the Spektrum brand hte most popular brand again. Not by making new transmitters. People want $45~45 6 to 8 channel receivers with battery voltage telemetry. At my club more than 50 members bought Radio Master because the receivers are too expensive... I have seen and use d a receiver with the aformentioned specs that costs only $13 and works reliably. Please save the brand and make people feel they spend there money wisely!

Hi David, thanks for the video. Updated my NX10 and AR631 in my eflite Extra 3D 1.3. Initial control response required the elevator channel to be reversed. I went out to the field for trim multiple trim flights. It was really pretty dialed in but I added just a couple of points on the gains via the rotary knob and a half turn of up elevator. On the subsequent takeoff, I pulled up and the plane nosed down into the dirt (just boke a prop, thank goodness). On the table, I saw that the elevator was reversed. I looked in my tranmitter, and it was just as I had programed it initially, (with the elevator reversed), but that's how I had set it up and had been flying it all day. What do you think?

I've got an E-filte Viper 90, a few years old. It has an AR637TA. I updated my Tx to 4.0.0A. I updated the Rx to 3.01.03. I then loaded the AS3X+ Rx Preset for the Viper 90 into the Rx from the Spektrum Programmer and then loaded the Tx Preset from the Rx into a new Model on my NX10. I do not have any new menu items...e.g. Nose Wheel Stabilization. I then Reset the Rx from Forward Programming, and put the Preset back into the Rx. Still no menus. I'm wondering if the Preset hides all the new menu items.

Hi, if I have a new AR10360T reciever and I connected the device via micro USB cable and then I chose only Instal update (not Conversion Firmware 2.X.X to 3.X.X before it), is it OK? The Spectrum Programmer showed me "The device was successfully updated." The Softvare version is 3.1 and the program show me "No new software version is avaiable at this time". In Models I see AR10360T Receiver v3. Is it OK? If not how can I repair it please? Thanks!
