Anyone missing their Alpha and Omega minions! What is this about!? FFXIV

Random appearance of two minions strolling across the map with no player characters in Final Fantasy XIV! Never new this was a thing assuming its not a bug?!

i wandered near Alexander in the open world and saw alpha staring at the large mechanism with his little beak open in wonder. It was quite neat little surprise.

I know another location you can find them in is the kitchen in the upstairs part of Rowena's building in Mor Dhona. They're looking at the nameless Lalafell chef who is always mixing something like they're expecting her to give them food.

These aren't minions. At the end of the Omega questline Alpha, along with this Omega mammet, leave to adventure across the realm. This surprised me too the first time I saw this but I absolutely love it, I've only seen it once though in the South Shroud at the palace of the dead entrance hole in the ground while doing some levelling.

Love that Alpha and Omega became their very own adventurers. They do crop up time to time in places, and in some cutscenes like there was a Starlight choir event a few years ago, if you’ve completed Omega raids.

In addition to places other people have mentioned, I've seen them on the Lochs looking out over the cliffs near that one lone tower on the south(?) side of the map

This is one nice touch with FFXIV, even quests outside of the MSQ (although the Omega raids are quite relevant to the main story) will have an effect on the world. A good example is with the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse raids in Shadowbringers, upon completing the questline, the settlement closest to the entrance to The Copied Factory is decorated ready for a festival, a similar thing happens as you progress certain Beast Tribes, most notably the Ixal, Moogles and Namazu, their quest hub basically gets upgraded over time.

not the same but if you havent finished the palace of the dead questline you can see eddas ghost for a few breif seconds and certain locations and times. For those who dont know/forgot shes the one in the tam tara deepcroft hard storyline

They're not minions. They are the originals going on their own adventures together.

I typically find them here, but I've seen them running out of other dungeons, or a few other spots.

I spotted them during on my way to my FC mates wedding ceremony in shroud, I told them their marriage is blessed by Alpha and Omega
