On this day in 1966 {November 20th} Eric Burdon & the Animals' version of "Help Me Girl"* entered Billboard's Top 100 chart at position #91, five weeks later it would peak at #29 {for 2 weeks} and it it spent nine weeks on the Top 100...
Between 1964 and 1968 the quintet had eighteen Top 100 records; three made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "House of the Rising Sun", for 3 weeks on August 30th, 1964...
After three weeks in the top spot it was replaced at #1 by "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison...
Bassist Bryan James 'Chas' Chandler passed away on July 17th, 1996 at the young age of 57 {aortic aneurysm}...
