AK Interactive Weathering Set - Trains - Undercarriage

Last week's video looked at the Trains Weathering set and this week is the Undercarriage set. If I'm honest, unlike the first set, this set probably needs a first layer of dust and dirt coloured paint. The light dust deposit paint would probably also look better applied with an airbrush. The products are good for adding an extra layer of light coloured dust to areas which get constant exposure as trains etc roll along.

Another great weathering video. Have to agree with you on the dust effect, unless you are modelling a desert area.

Another nice video. I guess this set is sort of a supplement to the Locomotive & Wagon set? When I was growing up we used enamel model paints all the time - Pactra and Testors here in the U.S. recall the Humbrol tins where also spirit based. interesting that they are coming back in this wash form.

One minor detail, the rusty wheels are generally common on roller bearing trucks. Plain bearing trucks common in the steam era deposit a film of oil on the wheel face, which holds dirt and grime, leaving a blackish-brown wheel in most cases.

Keep up the good work!

A Lady that likes model trains. This is great. I see more women as locomotive engineers (Drivers) now here in the US and hopefully modelers.

Do you ever have trouble with the paint on the wheels getting into the bearings? I noticed you turned the wagon over ( at the end of the dust section) and it would have been at risk of migration.
