I have Rust & Streaking set as well as the Dirt & Marks set. I like to use them in the same way I would uses traditional pigment powders, but where I need more control or a more subtle effect.

Can you apply a varnish coat over the pencils? Let's say I have painted my airplane and I need to decals, is best to use the pencils at this point and then cover with gloss for decals?

For those of us who don't have an airbrush, what spray can matte varnishes work with the pencils? I tried Tamiya Flat Clear and the pencils wouldn't work on it.

These are ordinary watercolor pencils. You can buy them at any store that sells materials for artists and hobbies. But marketers present it as a new product "Weathering Pencils" )))
