I am a former newspaper reporter. My career ended with many other veteran journalists in 2008 when free online news became the norm during the financial crisis. I earned my MAT in 2013 and have taught in secondary schools for the last 16 years. For the last two years, I've seen stressed teachers regularly asking ChatGPT for "a 50-minute lesson on" xyz, and I am fearful that this is AI's most practical contribution to education. And, yet again, I am afraid that since this is becoming the norm, I will soon have to start over yet again with a new career (only this time as a 50-something) because the practical uses of AI has the potential to put teachers out of work. Just my two cents. ✌
