NiSi 77mm Close-up Lens Review on a 100-400mm Zoom & 100mm Macro

This video focuses on testing the NiSi 77mm close-up lens on both a macro lens, such as the Canon 100mm & a telephoto zoom ( EF 100-400 IS II ). I tested not only how the default magnification ratios were increased but also how the working distance/minimum focusing distance were affected on these setups. The review includes both studio shots taken in a controlled environment and a more pragmatic approach via in the field test shots.

I wouldn't have taken a lens like this seriously if it weren't for your channel. This lens isn't cheap but its results seem to be worth the price. I no longer have my 100mm or 100-400mm but I suppose it should work well on the 70-200 2.8. Great job on this, Peter!

Hi! I am so glad I found your review. It is very comprehensive for me, thank you! My question is, if I use the 58mm version on my Canon 100mm macro vs the 77mm version what will be the difference in the images I can create? At this time I want to get the 58mm one to try on my Canon 50mm f1.4. I love this 50mm lens because of how wide open it can get and I want to see what the close up filter can do on it. But I dont mind getting the 77mm one as well if it provides significant additional advantages. Thank you!

Hello! Tell me, why macro photography needs that equipments as Flash and other covers to take photos so close? I mean, u cannot do that only with the lens?
