Fire at Summerville High School under investigation

The Summerville Police Department is investigating a Wednesday morning fire at Summerville High School as a 'criminal act.'

I remember this so clearly! It was so tragic as it was super nerve racking I remember being taking outside and it was pretty much like a fire drill back in elementary school. Gladly I moved after that and never went to that school again. They had lock downs almost every day❤

I didn't think much about this, but my stuff is left in the classroom. I can still hear the sirens as more officers come. It wasn't really something we thought about until they moved us to the back of the building. I was trying to lighten the mood, which I guess worked a little bit but did get on my peers nerves a tiny bit, but children songs are fun.

We were never let back into the building, they told us that we won't be able to go back in to get our stuff. Basically told us to leave or wait for a ride.

I am pretty sure that the smoke detectors failed, because if they didn't it would've been dealt with quicker, the hallways whenever we were being taken outside were smoky at the top, and it spread down each hallway I could see, which is around a hundred feet or so. Also, we were never let back into the building, people never got to retrieve their belongings. Rumors that I heard all around the area we were, said that it was 3 different bathrooms around the same time, and 3 kids were arrested (I saw one in a black and blue camo or something hoodie getting arrested).

So all I know is that a fire caused a ton of smoke, was in a bathroom near me, the fire alarm was way too delayed (Likely smoke detector failure), and saw one kid arrested.
