2021 Sony X85J vs X80J: Side-by-Side Comparison

In-store side-by-side comparison of Sony's 2021 Bravia X85J (left) and X80J (right), both in 65" size. The picture settings for both TVs were in the store's default VIVID mode.

Surprisingly the x80j despite having an IPS panel, as compared to a VA panel on the x85j, looks better in terms of colour reproduction.

X80J the best for NETFLIX .. and i’m super happy with my purchase

Either of the two is ugly. Both are ugly. I dont know if the va version of it is ok? But its ugly.
1. Low brightness
2. Low in range of colors. Yeah both have triluminos display. But its not the ideal of range of colors.
3. Prone to backlight bleeding because of heavyness. Dont try to wallmount this heavy tv. Lol
4. No separate of brightness and backlight settings. Brightness is also a backlight settings. Lol.
5. PRICEY!!! you can buy a very nice tv in this range of price. HISENSE is one of my recommendation. Already qled. And much more contrast.
6. AND LAST 2017 sony model is more beautiful than 2021 model LOL. 🤣 I dont know WHY?! sony is destroying there signature tv's now??? Poor Quality Now.
