One problem I've had with my DMM device is the rope going to the side of the entry groove. It seems to pop in fairly quickly. How well does the rope track the entry channel in this?

How do you pay out with it when lead belaying? I'd normally have one hand on the brake line (lifting it to reduce drag going in to the belay device) and one hand on the climber's line pulling it through. This doesn't leave a hand to operate the release.

Do you switch your braking line hand to the thumb position? Can it still hold the braking line safely in case of fall while clipping if you do that? Or does the action of lifting the braking line take enough load off the device to cause it to release? (I've lead belayed a GriGri this way - timing seems essential to stop it locking!)
