A little background information JJ’s dad was abusive. He was also a drugee and an alcoholic. JJ got into trouble with the police and he needed to pay a fee. He had enough money for the restitution so he showed it to his dad. His dad wanted to use the money for more drugs and alcohol. JJ tried to steal the money back and they ending up getting into a fight. JJ’s dad beat him and hurt him but eventually JJ got the money. Then he bought a hot tub

His dad was really awful to him later his dad ran away on a boat

1st my comment was about the girl saying he should have given the money to charity. When I get enough money that I can buy myself something nice for once im not giving it to charity and my guess is he didn't have a whole lot of money.
