no such thing as good and bad taste - there is taste, and no taste - taste means you know what you like. if youre too oblivious to care about a particular subject, then you have no taste. An artist's journey basically consists of developing his/her skills and his/her taste. you cant make a decision about something unless you can decide if you like it or not. And a good artist achieves that magic of communicating his/her sense of beauty, i.e. 'this is what i LIKE - check it out'

I don't have particularly good tastes in fashion, in the sense that i really have no idea how fashion works, so I just throw a bunch or random stuff together.

I think the only John Waters movie I could watch without cringing or being mentally scarred is Hairspray--it actually sounds like a movie I want to see, and it has Divine! Obviously, he loves to shock people, even to the point where it might get on their nerves. Certain celebrities/directors kinda do that now, they just act like they invented the concept.

@jasminetomca Same goes for fashion - some people look great wearing the craziest shit, because theyre comfortable in it. Why? because they like the way they look. That's taste - having a developed, conscientious opinion that is your own

"Good" taste and "Bad" taste are totally subjective! What one person might think is completely hideous, someone else might find it absolutely beautiful!

Who really thinks they themselves have bad grammar? :P. Very few people are aware enough to be able to acknowledge their own shortcomings. Have you met many people who are willing to admit they are bad drivers? Now think of how many bad drivers you encounter daily.
