Wicked, purchased a pair. Should have seen the kids faces when I told them Disney World next year is now cancelled.

- No dual layer = no 4 decks on 2 players.
- No inbuilt track analyse. MPU for what?
- No performance pads.
- No inbuilt Wifi streaming card.
- No inbuilt option for hard drive.
- No loop encoder, cluttered buttons everywhere.
- No added Tempo Ranges, still 6/10/16/100.
- No multi touch and screen glass protection.
- No full track buffering (still 4-beat emergency loop).
- No AC power failure buffer = no safety shutdown
- Small plastic Hot cues in completely the wrong place.
- Doesn't accept SDXC cards, no exFAT, max 32GB
- Only one media USB port with 1.0A (was 2.1A before)
- Inferior water resistance (Denon have coated PCBs)
- 1000$ more than a SC6000 and 1500$ than a SC5000

... no bashing intended, just countering the "we are club standard and worth the money" marketing arguments I see everywhere, thus copy-pasting likewise. 😏

If you listen closely, you can just hear the champagne corks popping at Denon HQ.

If i had a choice between these and the motorized denons, it would have to be the denons. way ahead in tech.

Another great review/1st look at a new product. Mojaxx is always the first place I go when a new piece of DJ equipment drops. I just wish you said the cost in pounds too.

*Am i the only one who prefers the old style of the CDJ jog indicator?*
*There should be an option to choose which jog display you want.*

Pioneer has everyone on that 4 year $5K upgrade plan ... on just the cdj's! 8K if you get the V10 (now standard club mixer) the 900 replacement.

Denon... makin' moves.

Car rental lots are overflowing with Toyota Corollas. That’s where this fits in the ecosystem. A Toyota Corolla always gets you there, but don’t expect to get emotionally attached. *[below] You're Right!* It's the *Pioneer DJ *Camry-3000* that's what the C in CDJ stands for.

Even with the launch of new product they seem way behind denon DJ.

Every review of this they keep mentioning how these are for rental companies and clubs, just another excuse for saying Pioneer Dj flopped and Denon is beating them

I'm glad I choose the Rane 12 MKii. For the money, quality, functionality, realism and price, the Rane 12 is setting a new DJ standard.

Great early review Mojaxx 👌 just like he said I'm not a targeted market by any chance cause it will be all the clubs and rentals buying them but as a resident DJ I'll be using them every week and most likely again enjoy the sturdy high standards of Pioneer and have fun (limited) with it in clubs but would I ever consider this as a part of my setup even if I would want to spend 2.5k on a single deck? No freakin wayyy

Given the target market, I think this will sell whenever the pandemic ends. Does it compete with Denon spec for spec and feature for feature? Probably not. But this is really like Apple vs. Windows. Those in the Pioneer ecosystem will likely to continue to buy and those who value new technologies, spec for spec and value for money will purchase other setups. Denon's software is getting more mature, which should make things more interesting.

Plus, I think the XDJ-XZ for half the price with similar functionality is the CDJ 3000's biggest competitor for budget focused medium-large venue setups

Love your takes Mojaxx. I'm definitely on team Denon/Serato personally, but I'm not willing to write off Pioneer DJ or assume their intentions. I know a lot of DJs our age that bought entire nexus setups for their own personal/mobile use (why??), and my upfront guess is that they're rebranding their product lineup to price some prospective buyers out of the market.

When are you going to do a full depth review ?

One thing that I think is worth mentioning is the claim about better sound quality because it upsamples everything to a higher bit rate. You can't get more than what you start out with. You can't turn an MP-3 into a lossless file. When they do stuff like that, what happens is non musical information is added to the file to trick the music player into thinking the lower grade file is something else. But an MP-3 or even a CD quality file upsampled to a higher bit rate still retains the sound quality of the original format. The only upside I can really think of is if they upsample the file before it gets to a volume control, you may be able to mitigate some of the effects of bit stripping. But that's about it.
