MY SOCIAL MEDIA:

Do you want to improve your pronunciation? I have launched my British English (Modern RP) pronunciation course! I’ll train you to read phonetic transcriptions, and produce each sound that comprises modern received pronunciation. I’ll also teach you how to implement the correct use of intonation, stress, rhythm, connected speech, and much more. We’ll compare similar sounds, and look at tricky topics like the glottal stop and the dark L.
Technically, I need to mark this as an AD even though it is my own company so - AD :)

Sherlock Holmes for intermediate? I would definitely say it's for advanced! They speak so fast and there's a lot of inductive language.

My personal opinion: Don't ever watch Sherlock without subtitles before you get to the advanced level, otherwise you'll just get your confidence entirely destroyed!!! It's even hard to follow Sherlock with subtitles on. So many times I just have to pause to read the subtitles properly. He just speaks fast.

If "English with Lucy" were a TV series, it would be the best!

Watching *Sherlock* in english with english subtitles really boosted my level of english. I literally could notice that my grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation had improved in just a few weeks/months! All I had to do was pay attention and repeat the words I didn't know.
Plus the plot is original and the actors are absolutely breathtaking!
*Thank you for your video Lucy :)*

Let me recommend more interesting channels on Youtube to you :
- English Heritage (traditional food in England)
- Gordon Ramsay (He speaks quite fast)
- MinuteEarth (everything about our planet)
- The school for life
- Zoella (make up, ...)
- The Great British Bake off (cook)
- British Council

I appreciate the quality of content and images that these channels bring us. Hope you like !!

Hi Lucy, I've discovered your channel a month ago and I've become a huge fan of your work! We are from Argentina.
My daughter started watching Peppa Pig when she was 2 years old, and since I couldn't stand the Spanish accent of the translated version, she starting watching it in english (also because in english, she would find many more episodes!). She then continued watching movies and many other cartoons and series in english. And she is now bilingual, at the age of 7. She has a perfect pronunciation... I'm amazed at how the method you are suggesting really works!

when you mentioned Sir David Attenborough my heart melted, I wish I had his address to write him and tell him he taught me english without even knowing, I can't recommend him enough as a teacher of an accent and the language

How did Downton Abbey not make the list? I loved it and would recommend it to any of my friends who want to start watching British productions without synchronization. Especially since in synchronization the accents do not survive, at least in the German translation, even though in German there would be tons of accents to choose from.

Thank you so much Lucy! I am glad I came across this video for my 14 year old daughter who has no English teacher at school at the moment. I was struggling finding something suitable for her to practice her listening skills! Thanks to you we now have good options to move forward! Greetings from France!

I live in US, but thanks to "Peppa Pig" my little daughter pronounces "can't" like a British.

Thanks Lucy for all the effort and energy you put in all your videos ❤️ I think we'd all love a video like this one but podcasts version! I love listing to podcasts but i haven't found yet one in English that really catches my attention. That's my suggestion for a future video 😊 Thanks again, lots of love from Spain 🇪🇸

'Fawlty Towers': I don't know if I missed it in the comments but if you want to watch a great sitcom with Sir John Cleese (much, much younger), wish to hear some fantastic impromptu slang, RP and other accents, and find out how British sitcoms have evolved over time....
Don't miss it. Manuel says, 'Si Senor. You must watch this!'
