5:15 - really appreciate your documenting the actual failure within the pump. Now where to get an actual OEM pump and not the $5 junk that people complain fails after only a month...

Basic and clear instructions...Simple to understand...Having been a repairman for years, an HVAC instructor and now semi retired, I need a refresher once in a while, on appliances, that I also did....I really appreciate someone that can show others how to do repairs and share their knowledge...Kudos.

Amazing. I am having the same problem. I put a search on YouTube with the hope of finding a solution, and what do you know. This is the first video I found with the same make and model washing machine that I have.
Thank you so much for posting this Daniel. Now I know exactly what to do to fix mine.
Would you believe I have had my Whirlpool washing machine for close to 20 years, and this is the second problem I've encountered after all this time.
The first, was a non-functioning cold-water intake, which I fixed myself.
Every major appliance in my home now is a Whirlpool, and it's all due to the great engineering put into this washer.
Again, Thank you Daniel.

Thank you for the instructions. That pump was definitely hard to get off. It took some WD40, prying with a bar, twisting, and pulling to finally free it. A note for others, wear some gloves because the parts and body of the washer are fairly sharp. You will bust your knuckles and cut your hands depending on how fused the pump is to the shaft. Thanks again! It's nice to save this long running washer with just a ~$10 part.

Thank you. I am now encouraged to tip mine back and at least take a look. My pump was not rusted and came off easily. I poured some water in the main hose opening to see it run out around the drive hole. eBay pump, $8.95 free shipping, be here in 4 days! Thanks again.

Thanks for this! It helped me a lot, especially just tilting the unit instead of removing the whole shroud and all of that mess. Just used a car jack to keep it tilted upward.

that's awesome bro thanks.. problem with our washer it's one of those older stack units and I can't even move it from where it is. So in this case I will be calling the 'land lord' to get someone in here to lift that beast out. Normally I could do this task easily thanks to your video.

Thank you. Good information.  You are a very good teacher and you explain everything in detail which I like.  You would make a good teacher if you decided to hold a class of troubleshooting Washers and other Appliances if you work on them.

Thank you so much! I was worried it was a much worse problem. Got a replacement at ReliableParts, now I'm good to go!

Good video! My Whirlpool water pump which is P/N 3363394 leaked from the top of the cover. It appeared that the bushing was slowing going out and creating resistance and heat, and due to the generated heat it melted a small hole on the top of the pump cover allowing water to be pushed out under operating pressure. Replaced pump and problem solved. Pumped cost $14.52 including shipping, and purchased on Amazon. Just about anyone can do this pump replacement in 5 to 10 minutes with a pair of pliers.

It would not surprise me if your upper motor bearing is the next thing to fail. Can't understand why you would continue to run the machine with water leaking onto the electronics. Easy to see and fix. I was just in that area a little deeper, replaced the clutch assembly. Previously the coupler. As things fail, I get to learn more. Sturdy machine that runs a long time!
