German bargain tool review: Padre ratchet for $13

Here’s my latest tool score from the German Amazon site. It's a Padre 1/4" drive ratchet that only cost me $13.

Padre is a brand of tools that doesn’t seem to have a presence in the United State. Some of their tools have recently dropped in price significantly on Amazon and are a real bargain right now.

Here’s a video showing how to buy tools and find bargains on the German Amazon site.

Did you find any bargains on the German Amazon site? Post them in the comments below.

Nice to see something that's not from China. I have a torque wrench made in the early '70's marked made in West Germany.

Cool review on a not so known brand! I contracted for a German automotive company a while back. They gifted me a few Hazet brand tools from Germany. I was very impressed. Cheers

I know that this tool company was founded by Paul Dreiner (Pa + dre) in 50's. And what i like very much is lot of their tools are still made in Germany even today. Good find :)

Looove the "Ziplock bag idea" Genius !
I'm gonna use that every time in the future.
Many thanks.

I'll second the motion of using a bag to remove c or e clips. Great idea. Hate searching for lost parts

Strange, The ratchet is actually made in Taiwan the older ratchets used to be made by Elora the only thing padre make is they're own sockets I believe and Spanners/Wrenches. The 810-811 and I think 813.

Most German made ratchets are heavy like 20-24 tooth normally with the exception of the new Hazet 90 tooth ratchet.

I ordered about $300 usd in knipex for $130 last week! Another 20% seems to come off the euro price at checkout when u select the shipping.

Tool Teardown Guy, have you had professional training for public speaking? Seriously, you sound like a professional TV guy. I mean that as a total compliment. If you have not had training, I wonder how you got your speaking style...

Hi. I think the ratchet is made in Taiwan or at least the parts are. Maybe then put together in Germany? I recognise the handle from other brands. Checked out some more Padre ratchets and they have the same head as other brands too.

Do you have any plans to check out the Craftsman line at Lowe's?

Is not made in Germany, I use Padre a lot and they only make wrenches and sockets. everything else is from other german brands or from abroad. their ratchets are made by frejoth in Taiwan, and the "made in germany" is printed as default in the adhesive, you cant tell if there is made in germany by that adhesive :)

Though should check out some proxxon tools. They are more bargain brand but still quality German tools. I can't find many videos on them and they are generally just showing the tools

I actually like chasing clips into the most impossible places that I deduce they flew to.

But I'm going to use this bag scenario from now
But I'm going to use a dark garbage bag so I can't see what I'm doing which will make it both inconvenient and practically impossible.
Thus prolonging what is deemed as a simple procedure.

So a thumbs up for the bag trick.
But not for complicating the simple disassembly...😐

8:02 would you look at that countersunk screw. My oh my.

I believe we are in need of a “let’s see how hard they are to break” video.
