In this lesson, we will discuss the important topic of inverse variation in algebra. Inverse variation is when variables are related to one another in such a way that one variable increases causes the other variable to decrease, and vice versa.

We also discuss joint variation, which is where two variables are multiplied and vary directly with a third variable. In addition, we discuss hyperbolas and the law of gravitation, which exhibits the inverse square law as discussed here.
