as a 04 manual tl owner building one with p2r parts...so glad you touched on these its hpnda big motor anmd there insane stock turboed also you dont even need half of what was mentioned for a turboed j series to make 4-500 look at halferland you need felpro permatorque gaskets for the heads or oem is fine honestly and halferland hyper pistons wioth there arp bolts they make and there h beams then fully built supertech heads from p2r for 1750 for the pair and some rv6 or plm high flows with a custom pipe for the turbo to exhaust from the motor not much price wise even then the 3.2 and 3.5 stock and healthy motor wise with no leaks and oil issues are fine

I have a J35 in my driveway (2012 Honda Pilot) and maybe you're onto something there...damn. I'm waiting for the transmission to brick itself at which point the Pilot itself is finished. I'm not putting work into keeping that turd rolling lol. But the engine is good and it has half the mileage of the VG30 in my 300zx. Might be kinda fun to get a standalone for a J35 swapped Z31 haha

J series would be great for a Miata or a fox body. Big enough you still get the torque, but light enough to not make the car drive like a sled. It would be a little weird if a built non drag car had a ton of power, but handles worse then stock.
