The two decade feud between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2001 when a German television tabloid asked Mariah Carey what she thought of JLo (aka Jennifer Lopez). Mariah Carey responded with the now infamous, “I don’t know her" and a long forced pageant smile.

Social media resurrected the seemingly shady response by Mariah Carey in 2016, creating a meme and helping to reignite one of Hollywood’s most ridiculous celebrity feuds. Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez both added new fuel to the fire when "I Don't Know Her" was mentioned in separate interviews with talk show hosts Wendy Williams and Andy Cohen of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

Jennifer Lopez claims the two have met “many times.” Mariah Carey says she does not recall and recently told TMZ, “I still don’t know her.”
