Here's a quick Japanese quiz aimed at beginner level Japanese learners around JLPT N5 level.

If you wanted to say "Trust someone" in Japanese, you can say 信用する, which literally translates to "do trust". And if you wanted to say "Do not trust", you can say 信用しない.

The question is, how do you say "CAN not trust?"

Can you figure it out? Let me know in the comments!

Here's a breakdown of the sentence at the end!

The source is the video game, Yakuza 0 (龍が如く0).

The sentence is:
もしも俺を信用できないんなら...

Here's the breakdown:
もしも - if
Øが - it
俺を - Me (object marked)
信用 - trust
できない - cannot
ん - Abbreviated form of the nominalizing の
なら - then

もしも「 Øが 俺を 信用 できない 」ん なら...
If "it" cannot trust me then...

Very good video, but the intermittent bell sound is too sharp and loud, distracting. Possibly a gentler tone next time?

Watching this kind of video makes me realize that I do not understand the technical stuff of Japanese Language but I can understand what Japanese people "says" to some degree. Also, for some reason I thought the answer was "信用しない"

What about "信じている" Does this works? To say i believe you? I've Heard this one used for anime. If not is there a reason or difference of using 信じようand 信じている?i assume It's about the formality

I have a question: why is "can not trust" not "信用されない"?
Because the potential form of する is され and the potential negative is されない, right?
