🦉📖 *. . . It’s late morning. The sun is sparkling on the ocean and the day is warm and fragrant. You hopped on your bike without a real goal this morning, other than to find something fun to do. Perhaps you’ll cruise over to the beach and go for a swim, or try to start a pickup game with the soccer ball you brought along. Maybe you’ll just cruise up and down the mosaic sidewalks and people-watch. For now, though, you feel like slowing down a tiny bit. There’s a little coffee shop with a patio overlooking the water, and that’s where you decide to stop. The sunlight is filtering through the vines that cover the pergola, making dancing shadows on the table and your book. Birds are singing and gentle bossa nova music from inside the cafe fills you with a calm, easy feeling. You close your eyes and inhale. A sweet smell wafts from the sun-warmed flowers and leaves surrounding the patio, cut through by the salty freshness of a cool ocean breeze. The colors, the sounds, the smells here fill your soul with joy. . .*

I work attending at a laundromat named Tropical Breeze in a very urban part of my city. It is a light and clean shop with a full wall of plate glass letting in the daylight.

I always try to play music that will help move the washing chores along pleasantly, while also making my day more smooth. The work you make is ideal for this. It is both vibrant and interesting and at the same time, and I mean this in the nicest way, blissfully ignorable. Like how you can feel great on a beautiful day without having to think of all the factors going into that feeling, just the sun and breeze and light conversation blending into a lovely afternoon. That takes talent.

So far, all of my customers, in spite of what genres of music they may appear to enjoy, are caught swaying and nodding, or folding their clothes to the rhythm. Good stuff.

Another vid I like are pop hits lounge covers, watching people realize what it is they are hearing in such a smooth style is amusing.

When I was a kid my dad was in the Navy and our family lived in the Philippines. Occasionally we would go dine at the Officers Lounge restaurant which feature outstanding Pilipino lounge and standards bands with gorgeous sequin dressed ladies singing so sweetly. I was about 10 years old and will always remember those dinners. Your work has reminded me of this golden time.
