In this video, I open up about my journey from growing up in a small town in Michigan to making the life-changing decision to move to the Philippines. I share my childhood memories, college experiences, and the pivotal moment I decided to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the unknown.

Over two years in the Philippines, I fell in love with the culture, the people, and the way of life—it truly became one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. But now, the question remains: Am I going back to the Philippines?

Along the way, I also share many of the challenges and life-changing events I faced—moments that tested me, shaped me, and ultimately helped me grow into the person I am today.

Join me as I reflect on my past, share my story, and reveal what’s next.

I went to the Philippines as a 18 year old. I was Stationed in the Philippines for 4 years. The beauty and the friendly Filipino people made those 4 years. The best 4 years of my life.

You made me think about moving back. I feel like I miss all the happy people. Living there for 2 years as a teenager was life changing for me.

We recently visited Siargao, visiting siargao makes you feel grateful! Nature wise makes you grounded! Last 2 days was raining and you’d see local use to walk under the rain. No complaint! The life there was different very simple that allows you to live every moment no wasted time. Thanks Barbie for loving our country!

You have blended so well with the Filipinos in so short a time, which means that your person and personality have been truly appreciated by the Pinoys. Your culture is so wide apart from ours but that did not pose a barrier to you, in fact you did an awesome act of assimilating to our way of living. You may have been 'shocked', for sure, and left with many questions and doubts about Pinoys, but you took pains in bearing with the folks, where you eventually found the 'gold' in their hearts.

Brianna aka Barbie.. In the two years you spent here in the Philippines (Siargao) a lot happened that you will never forget, it will become a part of your life. If you want to return to the Philippines, the people of Siargao will accept you, but your family needs you now.. You decide if you will return to the Philippines.. Follow what is in your heart and that will be good for you. .. Pray God always.. 🙏❤

I love how open-minded you're. The fact that you take a risk to explore to see different races. That makes you ahead of the game. I've never been in siargao myself. I heard it's really beautiful and people are friendly.
