I was there that night with my father and brother in the front row down the right field line. I still have the ticket stubs. It was stifling hot that evening. The only reason we were even in NYC that night was because the Cubs and Bobby Murcer were in town. Bobby was my favorite player. We usually spent the entire summer in Jersey and returned to Staten Island when school started. I also recall the players driving their cars onto the field so they could light up the infield and play a game of phantom baseball to entertain us. Those were the days.

I didn't know the Cubs were in New York during the 1977 blackout. Thanks for posting Mets! BTW I'm a Cubs fan who admires your uniforms.

The shortstop making the nice backhanded play at 0:05 is Bobby Valentine.
