A woman who cleans houses once told the story that her husband was laid off, and he came to work with her cleaning houses for a temp time. She asked him "are you ashamed to be cleaning houses?" His response was "I will never be ashamed to do the same work as you. And I will never be ashamed to do hard honest work."

Dave's advice for her to remind her husband that he's a good man was seriously touching. I appreciate not just the financial advice but also the heart.

I lost my 6 figure job once. So I drove a semi truck until I got back on top. My wife and kids didn’t understand how horrible I felt and how desperate I was but she supported me and loved me and we are back on top now. I’ll shovel crap or dig ditches but my family will eat and be warm.

This call is a perfect example of why Dave is so so much better than the other Ramsey personalities. Dave has life experience that the other hosts just don't have. He has the perspective and the fatherly touch that Jade and Ken and George and the rest of them just don't have. He has the ability to zero in quickly and understand exactly how a call needs to be handled. Too many of the other personalities seem like they are reading from a playbook. They just immediately want to talk about income and debt and they regurgitate the baby steps. Dave knows when a certain type of touch is needed. He knows when to be harsh and when to have a lighter touch.

The US economy cannot survive without continuous credit and debt creation. The FED will print more money and the average American will go just that much further in debt. Meanwhile, foreigners lust for the greenback. Their economies are in worse condition than the US... if that's even possible. Someone is going to be left holding the bag...

On the bright side, this family is young! Plenty of time to get back on track. A lot of people are in this mess in their 40s

4th kid on the way, $25 in the account and $90K in debt is about 3 kids and $85K late but I'm glad they are having this wake up call.

40's now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

Such compassion. That poor young woman came to you terrifed and you have stepped in to help her. I'm in awe of you Dave.

Once you read The Black Book of Riches, you can’t unsee it. The system is built to keep you in the dark, but this book turns the lights on.

I’m at the gym listening to this. Almost in tears. ugh. Been there with my first. Things fell through. Instead of paycheck to paycheck. It is paycheck to five days before next paycheck.

Praying for their financial recovery. I’d love to see her story in 1 years time.
