Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
Ephesians 1:3‭-‬6 ESV

I feel that so many Christians look on how they are saved as a secondary issue. They feel that the mind of God is beyond us and I know that it is. But this is a great explanation of salvation and as a Calvinist I feel it is essential for us to understand the doctrine of predestination. I don’t know why God saved me but I know He wrote my name in the Lambs Book of Life before He formed the foundations of the earth. And should I pray in thanks every second for the rest of my life here and in eternity I will never be able to thank Him in the way He deserves.

I know what I deserve because I sin. I pray that His grace shown to me will manifest in the fruit of love for other sinners such as myself.

“And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭30‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

So true. When I understood this truth it was like I was born again the second time. When I read this text with this perspective, I was amazed. And trembling. And grateful. And deeply humbled. Thank be to God our Father and to His beloved Son Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Predestination is a doctrine understood and therefore accepted by those who were supernaturally converted by God when they weren't seeking Him or His truth. It is also accepted by those who understand that salvation is for God's glory and the praise of Jesus Christ, and that because heaven is God's kingdom where Jesus Christ reigns as King, there is no reason why God should not have the right to choose those with whom He wants to spend eternity and leave out the rest. God has the right to choose whom He saves because He is sovereign over all being the creator of all.

his will is that all be saved. his will is we have freewill. no verse says only the elect can be saved. yes, we cannot him on our on. we seek, he guide Then we find. then he predestines us. Calvinism denies that.. Romans 8.

No, actually, you’re wrong. God doesn’t save just some people. That’s unbiblical. You have a reading comprehension error. God loves and forgives all people.

The mystery that Paul says is revealed in Ephesians 3, IF YOU KEEP READING, is that unlike the false, evil, heretical doctrine that the Jews had taught, that God only chooses to save some people, that no, it turns out that God doesn’t just love some people, he loves all people. All Jews and all Gentiles. There is no one who is not elect by God.

Predestination is dangerous, disgusting and definitely not a sign of a “just” God.
