Thank you soooo much for your kind words about my channel, as an avid watcher of your channel this truly touched my heart, and not gonna lie, I did a little squeal to know you watch my videos ❤

Also, we agree on The Space Between Worlds and I'm so glad to not have been the only one disappointed by that book. I wanted to love it because it was FINALLY pitched as an adult scifi written by a Latinx author and it just... felt short for me and read more like a generic YA. There's nothing wrong with that but it is just not what I was expecting from the pitch.

I don't read much science fiction, but every time I see your videos I feel like trying to read more. Thanks for the great recommendations!

Also, Dandelion Dynasty is super under hyped- glad you liked it!!! If you haven’t read it yet, Their Bright Ascendency series is definitely worth a read.

Oh, I do have recs for Asian-inspired Fantasy and SF: The Empress of Salt and Fortune is a lovely fantasy novella, Aliette de Bodard has written some really good space opera novellas set within an Asian-inspired world/part of the universe, and of course there are Yoon Ha Lee and Cixin Liu who are writing some brilliant SF.
Other Asian-inspired books I expect to be good but that I haven't read yet: Linda Nagata's Limit of VIsion sounds like a very unique SF novel and I've really enjoyed another book by this author. The Bone Shard Daughter sounds like wonderful Asian-inspired fantasy which is very unique with its magical but sentient constructs, The Killing Fog by Jeff Wheeler has rave reviews, and every one adores The Sword of Kaigen. The Throne of the Five Winds has wonderful court politics and scheming, Spin the Dawn I've heard has very strong world-building and a moving love story, Jay Kristoff's Storm Dancer trilogy is very popular among YA readers, and there's also Julie C. Dao's Rise of the Empress series starting with Forest of a Thousand Lanterns. The Steel Crow Saga is also very popular.
You've definitely made me very curious about the Dandelion Dynasty series! I'll pick it up soon.

I love Ken Liu’s books. He also made me like short stories.

Liu also recently announced it’ll be four books, with both out next year.

I did really enjoy The Original and I liked the way they produced the audio! And I liked Space Between Worlds, but it definitely reads like a debut.

Really love this videos. I really like that you also read so many different genres, specially a lot of sci fi apart from horror.

I'm excited read The Phlebotomist! One of the newer asian-inspired fantasy is We Ride the Storm by Devin Madson.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on The Grace of Kings! I’m looking forward to finally picking up the series soon. And I completely agree about the multiverse travel in Space Between Worlds. It took a huge back seat in the story. It was a huge let down for me 😞

Felt the same about Space Between Worlds and I also had it listed as a 3 star.

Quantum magician sounds interesting (I have some physics background).

Great video 🙂
I'm currently writing a scifi/fantasy series where I've tried to include different representation including gay and autistic characters. I like to check out other series that are in a similar genre. Subscribed and look forward to more 🙂

Space Between Worlds was one of my most anticipated sci-fi books this year, but man was it disappointing! There’s a lot of good stuff in it yet the story itself was so rushed and unfulfilling at the end. Might forgive it if it was a first book, but since it’s a stand alone....🤗

My advice: do NOT read anything about quantum science in order to appreciate the Quantum Magician book more: you'll only end up appreciating it less. I myself had just read a few non-fiction books on the subject and that knowledge kept ruining scenes for me, taking me out of the story due to realizing It's all pure mumbo-jumbo. While quantum physics is very interesting to study and I do recommend it in general, it would be best to read this series first and enjoy it fully before diving into the real science aspect. :-)
