One thing to remember; A hyphen joins two or more words together while a dash separates words into parenthetical statements. So that is a dash ;)

The "-" is a Hyphen, it joins words together (the horizontal line in "H" is short)
The "—" is a Dash, it creates a pause (the vertical line in "D" is longer)
