Your flow and presentation has improved light years beyond your earliest videos. Loving the energy and quality of content/information you're bringing in your videos. Awesome work!

Worst 3 years of my life were as a recruiter and I was in one of the most awesome places you could be, North San Diego Co. But, had great NCO's around me that propped me up. Got through it with my honor intact. Didn't put that many folks in but can honestly say every one of them appreciated what I did to help them out. Some recruiters won't do that. They will do anything and everything to not fail. But that is failure. If you're thinking about joining do your homework and if possible, talk to someone who has military, and if possible, recruiting, experience.

I wish I had a video like this when I joined

My advice is join during a time of low recruitment because out of desperation the Army will take anyone.

Damn I feel lucky that my first recruiter took me serious, but it was probably because I heavily did my homework before hand and he could tell I knew where I wanted to be and wanted to do.

Remember that recruiters are salesmen. Like the most annoying ass hat at a shady used car dealership. Recruiting numbers for the whole army are DOWN. When these salesmen don't make their quota of sales, they get in trouble. Also remember that the job of being a recruiter is not what the job that guy or gal asked for. In other words, no one wants that job, and they are all under career pressure to put people in the army. Getting recruits on a bus is what keeps them out of trouble, and if tricking someone who wants to be a green beret into signing something right now that makes them a water purification specialist is what keeps that recruiter out of trouble, they will do it in a heartbeat, forget about it, and move to the next sucker. Also like most people in the army, recruiters don't know much at all except maybe the job they came from before the recruiting assignment. So a recruiter who was a mechanic on apache helicopters only "knows" what he reads off a computer screen to the applicant about a job like being a combat engineer. So the applicant can do his or her own research on the internet about a job that he or she may want. Don't trust them or anything they say that isn't on a signed contract- they don't care about you- they only care about making quota.

I know I'm three months late but the biggest tips from my research to deal with recruiters are.
1 do you're homework.
2 if it's not in writing don't listen to them.
3 don't let them pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.
And 4 always read what you're signing hope this helps.

💯 young warrior. 30 years later, they're pulling the same shit. That's why we called it the deception station. Take care.👊🏾🪖🦅🇺🇸

There are a lot of recruiters out there that don't like to do wavers. You can download recruiting regulations regarding wavers. I was trying to get a certain MOS and I had a GT score of 95 someone told me about a recruiter that's good with wavers. I went to that Recruiter and he told me I can get a 10-point to waver I got it and I ship off. There are recruiters that don't like to work for the applicate.

I’ve been out 10 years. I’m 31 and I did 3 years and 4 months. I’m trying to get back in and they want me to use the US Army prior service business rules. The last paragraph in the business rules say if you did less than 4 years (48 months) then you can just enlist with MOS of choice. Despite me showing them the business rules, they say “I think you’re still restricted”. I’m on the East Coast. I call this recruiter on the west coast and he says oh man less than 48 months you are basically a new recruit for me, no extra paperwork except you need your DD214 and we pull medical records. I’m trying to lock in a language job with my 133 DLAB and they want me to be a 74D (CBRNE) dude again. The Army makes no fucking sense sometimes

Could you make a video about making the army a career?

Jay, love the videos and thank you for your service. I was wondering if you could shed light on the process of learning another language in SF training and any tips that you picked up during the process that helped you succeed in the task.

That 11 bravo or 18 X-ray choice was exactly what I’ve been thinking and feeling! Why detour myself when I can fully prepare and go all in with 18 x-ray. Thank you for that one!

My first time I tried to enlist in the navy to become a seal, I was lied to about my asvab score being a passing score just to get me in. Then I found out before I was going to ship that wasn't the case. I asked for all my paperwork back by the recruiter and they threw it back at me and sent out all my information to every recruiter so I couldn't enlist.

Is the 18x contract still currently available? In other words is it still an option in the US Army as of 2023?

For you guys listening, this is straight up scoop. Do not fuck around with a recruiter. If he talks down to you and says you couldn’t make it. Walk the hell out. Drive to the next station.
