This band was so thrilling and in the moment, and I consider it a life goal achieved to have seen them in Newport RI at the Jazz Fest. They truly were the "sound" of the festival, for me. The level of improvisation this quartet regularly made it to was just....nuts! IT is really, REALLY awesome news to hear Blue Note are going to be releasing live shows like Stockholm 2014. THANK

Got to see this quartet once. Have followed Wayne for 60 years from back to Jazz Messenger days through ALL of the phases to the end. This particular group was extraordinary - the level of creativity and interplay could only be compared to Miles' legendary group in the 60's although they have their own clear identity, but man I've never heard that level of creative communication anywhere else and I've heard all of the greats. RIP and thank you Mr. Shorter

More beauty from the pen of Wayne, and this brilliant quartet. Wayne was a gift from the jazz gods, and we miss him badly.

Help me out good people... What's the story behind this song (or is there one)? I call myself a real fan of Shorter but... This song is so amazingly beautiful that it sounds unreal... I feel like a lifelong Coltrane fan would feel if they listened to the man for 50 years, only to stumble across A Love Supreme last week... I'm at a loss for words. I've been listening to this song for about 2 weeks, but I have to limit my listening because it's so emotional. Is this song from a soundtrack or something? What am I missing?
