The Helping Hands Club has started a new interview series aimed at inspiring girls to pursue careers in STEM.
Our second interview features Ms. Sirpa Kallio.

Sirpa Kallio got Masters degree from Åbo Akademi University (Turku, Finland) 1985, with heat engineering as the major subject, and Doctors degree from Aalto University (Espoo, Finland) 2015 with energy engineering as the major subject. She worked as a researcher and teaching assistant at Åbo Akademi for 21 years studying multi-phase flows and computational fluid dynamic modelling and moved to Technical research centre of Finland 2006. Her main subjects of research have been related to energy production in different combustion processes, flow of gas-solid suspensions, and lately also plastics recycling and forest fires, and the work has been carried out in international cooperation. While major part of her research has been financed by EU or government bodies, many of the projects have also been customer projects for private companies in Finland and abroad.

We are truly in awe of Ms. Sirpa and are so grateful for her time!
