Learn how to use the RODE AI Micro and/or Wireless PRO kit with the Blackmagic Camera app to record professional quality audio with an iPhone.

Note: I used an iPhone 15 Pro Max with USB-C, but you can use other model iPhones with a Lightning cable instead - and you can also use other third-party video/audio apps as well.

My friend... I never leave a comment on videos but I have to say your tutorial is just perfect. No fluff, all the different set ups, we're able to hear the unprocessed audio. Truly thank you.

When I connect an iPhone 16 Pro Max to my Rode Wireless Go ll with a USB-C to USB-C cable and hit record and listen to the playback on the iPhone, it sounds great. But, when I transfer the recorded clip and playback on the computer, the volume is very low. I don't know if it's an IOS 18 issue, RODE problem or what?

My only reservation revolves around that usb c port with all these peripherals. If i'm recording Pro audio im also shooting in prores and need to use an SSD. I know you can use a hub but the power draw on that is so great that it limits your ability to shoot for very long at all

I appreciate your work. The message about putting effort and resources into quality audio cannot be said enough. I've been a church AV tech, now team lead, for 25 years, and often get the work product of others sent to me - "I'll send you a video". I started keeping some gear around to educate and to help folks improve the end result. I rarely have them use wireless, as it brings a level of complexity and therefore risk of error, but a Shure MV88 for the Lightning phone folks or a Shure MKE200 for the adapter to TRRS folks goes a long way. Along with educating folks to find a friendlier space than some echo prone church basement fellowship hall. And to use the furry wind protectors not the foam ones. Little things matter.

Great info, appreciate all the comparisons. I just received the RODE Wireless Pros and am looking forward to testing them out. The magnet doesn't stick the receiver to the back of my iPhone as well as I'd hoped but I'm liking them!

Great video! Question: I use a protective case with my iPhone 14: does the Rode wireless system plug securely enough into a lightning port (at the base of the iPhone) even with a protective case on the iPhone? Many great wireless mics don't fit snug enough if one uses a protective case on the iPhone. Really appreciate your input and great video.

I have the same setup & just wondering when using the 32bit float internal recording on the Rode Wireless Pro, how do you take advantage of the Timecode? have you ever tried using the Timecode feature in Filmic Pro together with the Wireless Pro to then sync in Resolve? If yes, could you give me your step by step process on how you do it or you just clap & Auto sync based on waveform? thanks.

Can a single rode wireles spro transmitter record in stereo using a Clippy Primo EM272Z1 which comes with a single 3.5 mm plug? Wondering if I can get away from using the RODE AI Micro. Looking to record some binaural audio in the city.

The Lav 2 with the wireless pro makes the voice sound best but it has these slight popping/clipping sounds and it picks up more ambient noise, it seems.
I've had the wireless pro for 2 weeks and I don't know how to stop those popping noises, which usually come up a minute after I hit record, and I am using the included pop-filter, even indoors.
