Miami's 8-Lateral Miracle Kickoff Return Touchdown To Beat Duke (HD)

In one of the craziest finishes in college football history, Miami beat Duke on an 8-lateral kickoff return when officials reviewed the play and determined what had been called a block in the back on the field was from the side, and therefore legal.

Corn Elder took Miami's eighth lateral of a wild final kickoff return and brought it back 75 yards for a touchdown that gave Miami a 30-27 victory over No. 22 Duke on Saturday night.

Glad to see rugby becoming more mainstream in the U.S.

Apparently Duke doesn't have a band??

Those were two of the greatest blocks I've ever seen.

Excellent Discipline by each player on the kick return team

Wow, I've never seen a team go backwards 30 yards and still score.

Wow! This just took over the second craziest last play (just above the Michigan State-Michigan game earlier this year) that I have ever seen in college football. It's behind the 1982 Cal-Stanford game because nothing can quite top running through a marching band to score a TD. Too bad the commentator didn't quite seem to grasp the insanity that was unfolding before his eyes...

Not from US, so don't know much about American Football, but what I just saw is pure Rugby (more or less, you get the idea). I'll start paying more attention to American Football from now on. Good job, Miami

The Ref's and the replay official just got suspended for two weeks for all of the non calls.

I can't believe what I just saw. Referees that blew three blocks in the back and a guy down at 0:22. What a miracle touchdown!

The greatest return of all time...The greatest finish of all time...A miracle play. Even if i am not a Miami fan, The Hurricanes make college football fun.

That was the greatest work of teamwork art I've ever seen.

Gotta love when someone pulls a trick play and the defending team is all standing there looking like they don’t know what the fuck just happened.

0:22 Clearly down with the line judge and camera having an open view. This was what got the officiating crew suspended.. along with the block in the back at the 16 and players leaving the Miami sideline while the play was still going on.

The block in the back that was supposedly missed at the Miami 16 yard line had no bearing on the play. You can see the ball is out of his hand even before the block in the back occurs. As far as the knee being down, I watched the game live and they didn't show any close-up like they had on Sportscenter. Whether or not the replay official had access to that, who knows. The suspension seems harsh because the referee and umpires had to determine every lateral as it occurred plus watch the whole field for blocks. The blame doesn't belong on them...maybe the replay official if he had angles on the knee touching the ground.

I watched the whole game and this, what a change in paste

Yeah, a miracle. Except for the part where #1 is down by contact at 0:22. It's pretty astonishing that the booth review missed that one!

0:46, Duke 28-yard line, crackback block in the opposite direction of the offense. Add that to the numerous illegal blocks. Call the zoo, there are at least four blind zebras in need of new homes.

I wonder why more football teams don't try things like this often, you can really take advantage of a lateral
