Man, I can't even imagine how low key discouraged and frustrated you must feel with this thing while having to keep a positive face. There's few things worse than watching hours and hours of effort go down the drain and having to start over from scratch (at least in my opinion). trick for getting out the pilot bearing :
find a tightly fitting piece of roundbar pack the hole full of grease and ram the roundbar in the hole, it will hydraulic the pilotbearing out, it does make a mess with the grease splettering around
