What was your calcium carbonate source? It is difficult to tell in the video how refined the CaCO3 is? I know many people use eggshells and crush them but the product can end up granulated without the use of a ball mill. Or did you dissolve them in HCl and and use Na2CO3? Or did you just buy it? lol.

One ingredient? Not high-quality. Just high purity.

Good chalk will also contain powdered oyster shells, and some sort of gelatin binder, which will provide smooth writing with no dust

You can buy a box of 4-5 colored sidewalk chalk for $1 and you don't have to wait for the water to piss-off
