Perhaps Casualty (or the idea of evil) was not as "absolute" a thousand years ago. Perhaps on both ends (the humans that create evil and the idea itself), if they feel that evil becomes vulnerable or weakened, even that slight chance is enough to hurt them. The only I see Guts killing any God Hand member is if he himself becomes one of them by sacrificing something with help of the behelit that he has

Guts has proven he can kill primordial beings like the sea god. But it’s his motivation to kill Griffith and blind vengeance for the band of the hawk that limits him from killing any of the god hand. Until he gives up that direct goal and focuses on his goal of protecting his new family he prob won’t be able to best Griffith or any god hand like he did that day in the snow against Griffith. Just my idea though of Miura story writing 😊

The Godhand admit they can't see or predict the future. Just events built by their own hands can come to be. We don't know how Guts has any chance to win considering skull Knight has been trying for 2000 years, but STILL took a swing at Void which was insanity. But we have to wait and see what the mangas have in store for us.

To me the crimson beherets are created by each god hand member turning into them as they are replaced overtime, that would explain why all those god hand members are gone cuz they have all been replaced by the current god hand members with the then newest god hand member void being the now next in line to be replaced if they can’t accomplish their goals on time
