HW News - RAM Price Fixing Evidence, CPU Shortage Through March

Hardware news this week critically focuses on China's claims of finding price fixing evidence in the RAM supplier investigation.

The biggest news for the week is the item on the price fixing investigation into the memory supply industry, which is also our first topic in the round-up. We also talk rumors of Intel 10-core desktop CPUs, rumors of RTX 2060 benchmarks vs. the GTX 1060 and 1070, and official news -- like Intel's ongoing CPU shortage and 14nm shortage. Further, board partners are overrun with too many excess video cards, leaving them with a profit downturn for 4Q18.

In the last year, we've seen AMD go from 14nm to 12, soon to be 7nm. In the same time, Intel has gone from 14, to 14, tried to go to 10, went back to 14 and now back to 22... I guess the saying is true. If you stop moving forward, you end up going backwards.

Plus AMD is going to most likely have 12-16 cores(most likely 16) on ryzen 3/Zen 2
64 cores are already on an epyc prototype on zen 2...

nvidia raises prices on components to sell to commercial users and when the commercial market dies out they raise prices to make up for lost revenue... really hope amd kills it with their next gpu

So much bad news... first both Intel's and Nvidia's showings are sort of duds at record breaking prices - and now both availability and prices are expected to get worse into 2019?

I'm seriously tempted at this point to just wait out this trainwreck, or maybe find some parts a gen old on the cheap just to tide me over for a while.
